about me

Dr. Sarah Twelvetree, DTCM, R.Ac, CAT(C)

Here's the thing...I'm a helper.  It started when my mom let my 6 year old hands put a band-aid on my brother's scrapes. He may have had raging infections afterwards, but that's not the point.  The point is I am a helper. My entire health care career has involved me helping people train, recover, rehabilitate (and just survive in some cases), while giving them hope and some laughs along the way.

My "official" (sorry Rob) journey began in the Athletic Therapy program at Mount Royal College (yes, i'm that old), then I made the move to a very cold Winnipeg to get my Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Therapy.  Winnipeg taught me many valuable life lessons, some of which I might share over a patio beer.  Having decided school was more fun than real life, I entered SAIT's Paramedic program and spent much of my time working as a Primary Care Paramedic in downtown Calgary which was....yeah.  So after a somewhat extended break from school (I was still devouring courses when I could), I dived back in and devoted almost 5 years to becoming a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturist.  So, yes, if you're keeping track, the majority of my adult life has involved other people bleeding.  But i'm totally normal.  Trust me, i'm a doctor!

So....what does this mean for you?

It means you're getting the expertise of a practitioner with over 7000 hours of patient

contact and the unique perspective of being treated by the

first and only Athletic Therapist and Doctor of TCM in Canada

My role is to support you, to help you optimize your mental and physical health using both a Western and Eastern approach.  You can expect an individualized treatment plan because what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a...pretty great practitioner!
